Obituary for William Ezra Serfass Sr.
William Ezra Serfass Sr., 72, of Palmerton, died Saturday, Dec 17 in Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest.
He was the husband of Betty Lou (Evert) Serfass. They celebrated their 16th wedding anniversary in April.
Born in Kresgeville, he was the son of the late Ezra and Minnie (Meckes) Serfass.
He worked as a machine operator for many years, mainly at Alpo Pet Care.
William was a member of the Bowmanstown Fire Company and the Bowmanstown Rod and Gun Club. He was also a member of the Beaver Run Rod and Gun Club and the Andreas Sporting Club. He enjoyed public auctions and flea markets, as well has having breakfast with his friends.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son William Ezra Serfass Jr. and wife Wendy of Lehighton; a daughter Lisa Troch and husband Kevin of Lehighton; a sister, Pauline Johnson of Kresgeville; six step-children, Candice, Bill, Donna, Ruth Ann, Bonnie and Cindy and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Mabel Behler, Arlene Serfass and Delores Mase.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 21 from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville, with Rev. Jodi Niefert officiating. Burial will be in Dotters Corner Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Carbon County Friends of Animals, 77 W. 13th St., Jim Thorpe, PA 18229.
